RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT
Please read carefully and inform your children of the rules.
1. Parents are required to help in any needed capacity. When signing on please print your child's registration number beside it, so that we may easily keep a record of who is assisting.
2. No child is to be left at the ground without someone being present and responsible for them. If a child is found not to have a guardian present, they'll be removed from the field and will just sit under supervision, until called for.
3. No person will be permitted on the field of competition unless they have signed on, as this is a requirement of our insurance policy, no exceptions please.
4. We will only permit a tiny tot to compete if they are 4 years old and have an older brother or sister competing at the centre. A further condition of registering a child, which applies to all ages - is that the child is capable of going out onto the field alone to their events, they cannot have their mum or dad accompany them.
5. Wearing of spiked shoes is permitted for under 9's upward in laned events, long jump (7mm spikes) and high jump. They are to be carried to events and put on just prior to starting. They must be removed immediately after completing that event.
6. In throwing events all children must remain behind the throwing circle and in discus no child is to lean or put their hands on the cage. This may cause serious injury.
7. Injuries and accidents are to be reported to the 1st Aid officier in the administration block.
CODE OF CONDUCT (ADULTS)
1. Adults are requested to behave in a manner that sets a good example to the children e.g. no inappropriate language; verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated.
2. Adults are further requested to encourage children to attempt all events and to firmly discourage any other athletes from ridiculing the attempts of others.
3. Adults are requested to comply with the committee members decision should a problem arise with children or other adults on the ground on Friday evenings.
CODE OF CONDUCT (CHILDREN)
1. Obey the instructions of the committee, age managers and other officials on the field.
2. Children are expected to behave themselves. If they don't they'll be sent from the field, usually for an event, longer for more serious offences. They will of course be supervised if sent from the field. Should a parent remove a child from that punishment without first consulting with an Executive Committee Member, may not bring that child back on Friday nights for the rest of the season. By the same token, no child is to be unfairly sent from the field by either an age manager or an official, any child misbehaving should be spoken to and warned first before action is taken by an executive committee member.
3. Behave in a manner that shows respect for themselves and for the rights and feeling of others.
4. Behave in a manner that keeps themselves and others safe at all times.
5. Respect and care for buildings and equipment, your property and that of others.
6. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated or abusive behaviour either physical or verbal.
7. Spikes are not permitted to be worn outside the ground of competition. Also no athlete is to behave in a dangerous manner by fooling about with spikes or else they will find themselves in trouble. If we have to warn any athlete more than once about wearing spikes outside the competition area or behaving dangerously, then they may not be permitted to wear them.
