Uniform: ALL CHILDREN MUST BE IN FULL UNIFORM BY THE 4TH WEEK AFTER REGISTERING. Everyone is asked to wear plain dark-blue shorts, gym pants or bike pants and club singlets. The child's AGE NUMBER PATCH must be sewn on the lower left hand side of the shorts. REGISTRATION NUMBER must be sewn on the front of the top with the RED SQUARE VISIBLE plus IGA patch on the RIGHT SIDE OF TOP. A good idea is to form a pocket with the number by leaving the top open, so that the children can put the tickets they receive for their events in there. Until you buy a singlet, just pin or tack your child's number onto a T-Shirt, remember children will not be allowed to compete without their number. Also shoes are compulsory to be worn in all events on Friday evenings, no shoes then no competition will be allowed, Spikes for ages U/9 up only.

Friday Nights: Come early, before 5.45pm. If we are to finish on time events must start on time, children must be in the marshalling area and officials in position by 5.50pm. You the parents are our officials; no one is employed to conduct the events for your children. You don't have to worry about knowing what to do; someone will show you at the event. All of the parents have come to the Centre with no prior knowledge or expertise in athletics administration or organisation; they all gained their skills from on the job training. There are parents who have been coming for years, they will be happy to assist you with time keeping, track judging, or field events. It takes just over 150 people to run the competition here on Fridays, so please don't wait to be asked, volunteer as soon as you arrive or hear the call over the microphone. Parental involvement is a necessity in Little Athletics. Being an official regularly at an event is a good way of making new friends. For those who are keen, there is an opportunity to become a qualified official. To volunteer on Friday nights just come up to the Official's table at the amenities-block and see the Officer of Officials who will be happy to give you an officials job for the evening. There are other jobs off the field suitable for mothers with young children or babies, such as selling raffle tickets or BBQ.

Every Parent or Guardian has signed a form as a condition of registering their child that they will assist. Each month the lists will be checked and any parent found not assisting on a regular basis could cause their child/children to lose all their points. If this should happen there would be very little chance of their child having sufficient qualification points to be eligible to receive a trophy at the completion of the season. The committee regret having to take such steps but unfortunately we have to ensure by some means, that there are sufficient adults to conduct the program efficiently.

Volunteer/Student Declaration form: Current form of ID is required by all adults who assist. This form has to be signed by everyone who assists as an official on Friday evenings, if a relative or friend should assist on any occasion when you can not make it, they should also sign a form.

Just a word of warning: With all the new people it takes about 3 weeks before everything is running smoothly, so just bear with us, because officials have to be shown what to do and it takes a little time for the children to settle in to the routine. We run a two-week program, which means that over a two-week period your child should do all the events for their age group once.

Procedure: At 5.45pm all children will be called to the marshalling area where children line up in their correct age groups with their age managers (If we have no age managers or officials, then children cannot start Friday night competition). Children are then directed to their events by the age managers. At the completion of each event the age manager has to see the track & field manger for their next event, otherwise they may miss their next event. At the completion of the night age managers are responsible for handing all completed recording sheets (with age group & event clearly marked) in at the recording table-recorded, result tickets will be handed out the following week if possible. The tickets must be collected by the Age Managers from the recording table at the beginning of the night and hand them out to the children at the end of the evening. Children will be told by their Age Manager when they have finished their events and they can go to their parents, please let your child know where to meet you. This is how things should happen and after 2 or 3 weeks it will, but at first it's a little slower and harder with new people learning. Children are not permitted near the amenities area unless they need to use the toilets, they should be accompanied by their age manager.

Cans of drink on the field: All cans are to be removed from the field. The council mower is very large and if it runs over a can it shreds it into sharp slivers that can cause severe injury so please remove all cans.
